Four new actors join the already-stacked cast of Martin Scorsese’s upcoming crime drama, Killers Of The Flower Moon. Two of the new cast members are actors, while the others are better known for their music. While two of the new cast members, Grammy-winning musicians Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell in Scorsese’s film will be considered novel, the others, William Belleau (best known for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), and Louis Cancelmi from The Irishman, are a more traditional casting. Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro will star in the film, along with Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins and Jillian Dion. This Killers Of The Flower Moon feature is based on a non-fiction novel by David Grann titled, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI.
The Wrap confirms that four new actors have been slated for Scorsese’s upcoming project.
Killers Of The Flower Moon has a unique arrangement as it is being co-produced by Apple and Paramount Pictures. Therefore, the film will get a theatrical premiere and then head to Apple TV+. Paramount Pictures struck the deal with Apple as the film’s budget continued to grow to a whopping $200 million. Additionally, the film has fallen behind schedule due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. However, with the trifecta of Scorsese, DiCaprio and DeNiro joining forces after having collectively worked on The Irishman, The Wolf of Wall Street and Taxi Driver, the film is sure to be a success.
In Killers Of The Flower Moon, members of the Osage tribe in the United States are murdered under mysterious circumstances in the 1920s sparking a major F.B.I. investigation involving J. Edgar Hoover.
Grann’s non-fiction story is set in the 1920s and follows the richest people per capita in the world at the time, the members of Osage Nation in Oklahoma. The oil barons, however, were suddenly killed off one by one, with many more Osage residents dying under mysterious circumstances. J. Edgar Hoover appointed a former Texas Ranger named Tom White to go undercover along with a Native American agent to expose a chilling conspiracy.
